Symptoms:

• Kidney Yin Deficiency: This condition primarily manifests as soreness and weakness in the lower back and knees, dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia with vivid dreams, hot flashes, night sweats, a feeling of heat in the palms, soles, and chest, dry throat, flushed cheekbones, a red tongue with little moisture, and a thin, rapid pulse. Men may experience seminal emissions and premature ejaculation, while women may have scanty or absent menstruation.
   
• Kidney Yang Deficiency: This condition is commonly characterized by cold and painful lower back and knees, aversion to cold, cold limbs, fatigue, a pale or dark complexion, a pale and swollen tongue with a white coating, and a deep, weak pulse. Men may experience impotence, premature ejaculation, and seminal leakage, while women may suffer from coldness in the uterus, infertility, excessive and clear vaginal discharge, and menstrual irregularities.
   

Treatment:

• Kidney Yin Deficiency: The treatment focuses on nourishing Yin and tonifying the kidneys. Commonly used medications include Liuwei Dihuang Wan (六味地黄丸) and Zuogui Wan (左归丸).
